First Blog Post EVER!!!

As I laid awake last night, I realized it was time to stop putting off things that I have wanted to do for a very long time. One of those things is writing a blog. I have put it off for so many reasons. I feel like no one will want to read it, people will think I am dramatic, it will be too personal, and other people won’t gain anything from reading it.

I have been waking up and logging on Facebook each morning to watch Glennon Doyle's "morning meetings". Each morning, she posts a video of her speaking about a topic she is passionate about. In one video she talked about how she began writing. She has a lot of amazing points she covers, so I will post the link to that video! She also mentioned that if you have a longing to write, then you should probably be a writer. It was a perfect time for me to hear her say that. Right now, we are basically in a quarantine because of COVID-19. There is no better time to start something new and find something you are truly passionate about.

Since I was little, I have been passionate about writing. I have always had poems and songs pop in my head (It is really sad when a good one pops in my head and I don’t write it down). I have so many poems and songs written in binders and notebooks hidden in the back of my closet. Maybe one day I will be brave enough to post them somewhere or LUCKY enough to have them published.

I have no idea what all I will write about on this blog. I am leaving that up to God and my mind. I will try to write everyday. If I don’t get around to it, that is okay. I am learning to take life as it comes. Day by day. Minute by minute. It is crazy how our moods and attitudes change each day. Hell, if you are anything like me, your mood changes every hour (that is a talk for another day).

I am VERY new to this blog thing, as you can probably tell. I will probably spend a while editing it to make it look semi-professional. However, I will not expect myself to make it perfect. I have no room in my life for perfectionism. It is very harmful to your mental and sometimes physical health (hmm...blog post idea).

If you are reading this, that means I found the courage to copy this post from my Google docs and share it with the world.
